Folk - Music Festival
A three -day folk music festival is being planned during end of November in partnership with Kalakshetra. The festival will feature folk artists from Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Sampradaya will document folk music of the three states and also interview the artists. There will Be performances by these artists for the general public at Kalakshetra.
Dance Music Seminar and Symposium
In continuation with the three day dance music workshop conducted by Sampradaya a few years back Sampradaya plans to hold a Seminar featuring dancers and musicians in the first week of February. The three day Seminar will have support from Kalakashetra by way of resource people, venue etc.
Gurushisya Series
Over the past few years Sampradaya has been doing a special series titled ‘Guru Shisya’-- documenting senior performing artists wherein senior performing artists [most of them above 75years] of today discuss their Guru-s and their stage performances, and their methodologies with their contemporaries. The objective of this series is to draw participation of students of music to what really an artistic storehouse of sorts is all about.
Sampradaya will continue this series from November with some senior artists[disciples-shisya-s] of Smt M.S.Subbulakshmi, Smt D.K.Pattammal, Smt Muktha etc.
Interviews - in Camera Documentation
Sampradaya will also continue the regular interviews with artists every month at Sampradaya archives or at the residence of artists who are not in a position to go in person to the archives owing to age.
