Sampradaya’s audio and print Library is perhaps what Sampradaya is best known among the music lovers not only in Chennai but world over. Sampradaya is unique -in that it has built up an audio archive containing more than 7000 hours of music of the great masters, beginning with Tiger Varadachariar and Ariyakudi Ramanuja  Iyengar down to the present day artists. The archives consist not only of music concerts but also in-depth interviews with eminent musicians, proceedings of seminars and so on. The Library, which contains the copies of Sampradaya’s archival audio materials and also a rare collection of very old books and journals[some of them nearly  hundred years old] related to music, is open  to members , research students and general  public. Sampradaya’s collection also includes very rare and old photographs dating back to early 1900 mostly donated artists. Of late Sampradaya has been collecting personal items used by artists of yesteryears like diaries,  letters, notebooks with their handwritten notations, rare photos, certificates etc.

Besides all the materials generated by its own efforts Sampradaya archives also includes hundreds of recordings [spools, r.pm gramophone record ]donated by collectors

In addition to Carnatic Music Sampradaya also has set itself a broader agenda of documenting Folk-music, temple music ritualistic music etc from all the southern states of India.

One of the most significant projects carried out by Sampradaya is the audio -visual documentation  of several temples where the Trinity of Carnatic-Saint Tyagaraja, Sri MuthuswamyDhikshitar and Sri Syama Sastry worshipped and composed.  Titled ‘A Tryst with Trinity’ the documentary film runs for 35 minutes with commentary in English and has been widely appreciated by the music fraternity.
